Bongo Babies- 0 to 2¼ year olds
This is an age which benefits largely through imitation and repetition,.
This fun-packed class is designed to allow children of mixed ages to
make music together. Children are exposed to many styles of music and to
the sounds of many different instruments. Classes include singing,
moving to music, finger rhymes, playing percussion
instruments and lots more. Children will also be developing fine and
large motor skills, language skills and socialization skills. Use of
rhyming words will later help with reading.

Tootin' Toddlers-
2¼ to 3 year olds
As well as continuing the curriculum from the younger Bongo Babies,
Tootin' Toddlers emphasizes teaching color through musical games and the use of
xylophones. Children enjoy participating in music while continuing to
develop their fine and large motor skills, language skills, and social
skills. Finger rhymes and songs with puppets reinforce counting and word
meanings of high/low, fast/slow and loud/soft.

Poppin' Preschoolers-
3 to 5½ year olds
Although it is not
necessary for all parents to stay, some prefer to watch or participate
in this class. We continue the musical activities of the younger group
music classes, however children in this class now begin to play simple
songs on the xylophone (by color and note name). Children are also
introduced to the beginnings of musical notation and learn to beat out
simple rhythms. They experience many fun instruments including hand
bells, didgeridoos and kazoos. Basic movement patterns for simple dances
are presented. In addition to reinforcing skills of the previous class,
children are taught patterns and sequencing skills leading to reading
and playing music. Children are encouraged to identify many orchestral
instruments by sight and sound and to interpret music in their own
words. Musical pieces such as Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf" and
Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” are presented.
